The Unquowa School

The Campaign for Unquowa ~ Campaign Chair Letter

Dear Friends,

The Unquowa School has a special place in our hearts as it does with so many of you. We both have children at Unquowa and we are grateful for the love of learning and the enrichment of the whole person that Unquowa provides. As Chair of The Campaign for Unquowa and President of the Board of Governors, we are truly honored to help secure and enhance the future of a school that has such a positive impact on the lives of so many young people.

Independent schools can no longer rely solely on tuition to provide students with the high quality curriculum and cultural programming we all expect. While tuition supports the normal day to day workings of most independent schools, money raised through capital campaigns for endowment and campus improvements allows schools to be visionary at all times. Without a strong endowment, independent schools may find themselves at the mercy of fluctuations in enrollment and the economy.

The Campaign for Unquowa is the result of years of careful planning and preparation by the Unquowa Board of Governors and Sharon Lauer, our Head of School. The Case Statement for the campaign, clearly outlines what the school needs in its next phase of growth as we continue to establish Unquowa as a place of tremendous learning for years to come.

We are inspired by the Board of Governors’ and Sharon’s vision for the school. Alumni and parents of alumni recognize the role Unquowa plays in helping students develop the dispositions that help them to become lifelong learners and positive, active members of their communities.

It is important for us all now to do what we can to make The Campaign for Unquowa a success. Your pledge is a commitment to the school and an affirmation of how you and your family have personally benefited from being members of the Unquowa community.

We thank you for your continued support of The Unquowa School. We will be updating you regularly on our progress.
