The Admissions Process
The admissions process begins with an initial inquiry by filling out our online form or simply calling our Admissions Office at (203) 367-3151 or (203) 367-3159. As parents make their initial inquiry they are invited to schedule a tour of our school and will receive all the necessary application forms and information needed to continue with the admissions process.
Once a parent submits an application, a visit is scheduled for the student to spend time in the classroom with a teacher and fellow students. During this visit, each student is screened to provide an academic profile. The parents will also meet with Unquowa's Head of School, Sharon Lauer, for further discussion and to have any questions answered about our school and its policies.
Moving forward, the parent will then arrange for the student's records and teacher recommendations to be forwarded to the Unquowa Admissions Office for review. Students entering grades 6-8 are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Unquowa's Admissions Committee will then meet and make a recommendation to the Head of School regarding the student's acceptance.
Admissions timing for each Academic Year:- Re-enrollment contracts sent to current students in January
- Siblings of current students admitted in February
- New students admitted beginning in February and March, continuing if there are openings
