The Magic of Winterfest!

Posted: Monday, December 21st, 2009  By: Mrs. Strmecki

Each year, Unquowa students prepare for the traditional Winterfest show and every year, the show is magical.  This year’s Winterfest did not disappoint.  This year was the 29th show, and was titled, A Beautiful December.  Set during the traditional Medieval times, the king and his three sisters who are queens from far lands weave  various tales of the winter month of December.  As the tale is told, the stories capture the beauty of the winter month and the return of Spring.  Directed by Mrs. Strmecki, the students worked tirelessly to prepare a great show.   It was great to see so many alumni return for the annual show!  Congrats to the cast and crew for another great show!  Hope to see everyone next year for the 30th Winterfest next December.

The Choral Performance Ensemble, a new group at The Unquowa School, kicked off the Peace Assembly with “This Song is for The Children” by Mary Donnelly. The piece calls for remembrance of all children in the world who suffer or face affliction. Its hopeful melody and moving lyrics was a tribute to all children worldwide.
